The  Story

A few of you have already asked at the bar if we would post our story somewhere. So here is the cliff notes version.

How it Started...

Adrien and Ddendyl Rogers, grew up in a small rural town in Western NY.  Ddendyl, an artist and musician (Season 6 of NBC's The Voice") was completing a 6 year performance residency in Las Vegas while Adrien, a certified sommelier in Oahu, Hawaii was continuing his 20 year plus journey in the food and beverage industry. Skip a couple decades and a friendship that began in the second grade, turned into a beautiful marriage 27 years later.

How we got here...

Adrien and Ddendyl moved to Charlotte, NC to be closer to family and start a new chapter. Adrien was working long hours and Ddendyl was traveling a lot as a Dueling Piano player, so they decided to open wine bar in North Carolina in an effort to spend more time together and start a family. Before settling on a place, they took their honeymoon to Johnson City and completely fell in love with everything about it. It was on a night out on the town that they realized Johnson City didn't have a wine bar so it seemed like a no brainer to move to the area and open their concept in Tennessee.

How we got our name...

For whatever reason, Ddendyl loves pigeons. While living in Las Vegas she befriended a pigeon family that would come to eat right out of her hands first thing every morning. After moving to Charlotte, NC, Adrien bought her a piece of artwork called "feisty pigeons" for her birthday. When deciding what to name the wine bar, Ddendyl suggested "The Feisty Pigeon". At the time Adrien wanted to sleep on it... but then ultimately decided that was the perfect name for our new venture!

A couple things to share...

We really did pour our hearts and souls into The Feisty Pigeon. We built the bar completely by hand with wood sourced from both of our families. All of the art work in the space was designed and made by us! We hope you all love it as much as we loved building it. Cheers!
